Harniss Spinning Tops

Acknowledging the importance of the #circulareconomy, all our work polo shirts with the new company branding provided by Champion Workwear have been made with recycled fibres – containing 65% recycled polyester in-line with the Global Recycled Standard.

This further supports our continued Sustainability and Environmental policy, and our core #ESG sustainability commitments under procurement.

Why use textile recycling?

Firstly, this helps reduce landfill waste, which is one of the biggest issues against #climatechange. This reduces greenhouse gases and also plays a part in reducing landfill costs for cities and creating space for housing, new developments or even a park.

The production of clothing uses a huge amount of water and energy across many industries. These processes are hugely damaging to our environment. Using recycled textiles eliminates the need to make materials from scratch. It takes 1,900 gallons of water to make one pair of jeans!

95% of clothing can be recycled. Currently the rate of recycling for all textiles is at around 16%, and this is a dramatic increase from 2018! Within the UK there are approximately 3,950 high street stores that specialise in selling second hand goods.
