Harniss Building Services Solutions are an established family owned Mechanical and Electrical Consulting and Contracting company based in Northampton. We currently have exciting apprenticeship opportunities for both trainee quantity surveyors and trainee project engineers to be part of an industry leading company with a dynamic modern approach.

The roles;

The trainee quantity surveyor responsibilities will include;

  • Assist in providing detailed financial information on the financial aspects of contracts
  • Assist in producing and issuing sub-sub-contract orders
  • Assist with monthly analysis of contract performance
  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts
  • Work collaboratively to quickly integrate within the business

The trainee project manager responsibilities will include;

  • Assist in managing the day to day site activities
  • Undertake site inspections to ensure all projects adhere to the internal policies and procedures
  • Produce project reports on a regular basis
  • Manage sub-sub-contractors
  • Work collaboratively to quickly integrate within the business
  • Assist in the production of technical reports

What we are looking for;

Applicants should have excellent communication skills and a strong willingness to learn.

Applicants must have a minimum of 3 A-levels at C or above and hold a full UK driving licence.

Cygnet Hospital Coventry – Doors open for admissions

Harniss are pleased to announce the completion of the Cygnet Hospital Coventry project. The facility is a brand new hospital on the site of the old St Mary’s School in Lansdowne Street, Coventry. Doors were opened to admissions in April 2017 and the building comprises of 56 beds, providing specialist inpatient services for women across three wards, with step down facilities also forming part of the care pathway.

 

Harniss announce new design team appointments to support business growth

Graham Lutz joins Harniss from Cunnington Clark ltd as Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead our in-house electrical design function.

Michael Ritchie has been appointed as Senior Electrical Design Engineer joining us from BSD, and Dragos Voicu joins from ICEP as Mechanical Design Engineer.

Our design capability has developed significantly in the last five years enabling us to provide concept and detailed design consultant duties including the provision of fully detailed working drawing designs for our in-house contracting team. The addition of Graham, Michael and Dragos will enhance our offering and ensure we maintain our focus on the delivery of a high quality service to our clients.

Harniss appointed on new Cygnet Hospital in Maidstone

Harniss are pleased to announce their appointment as mechanical and electrical consulting engineer for the new £14m, 65-bed hospital due to be built by Cygnet Health Care in Kent. Cygnet Hospital Maidstone will be located on a two-acre plot at the proposed Kent Medical Campus on Bearsted Road, Maidstone.

Construction is due to commence later this year with the first admissions to the new hospital expected in January 2018.

Harniss have undertaken the conceptual mechanical and electrical design for the scheme within a building floor plan totalling 5,300 square metres and constructed over three levels.

Harniss secure Cygnet Health Care project

Harniss are pleased to announce their appointment with Cygnet Health Care to deliver M&E design services for their new £10million, 56 bed mental health hospital in Coventry.  The completed development will comprise three principal wards plus eight individual step-down flats together with therapeutic, clinical and recreational facilities, and ancillary / support accommodation. These will be set within a building floor plan totalling 4,427 square metres and constructed over three levels.

Cygnet Health Care is one of the UK’s largest independent providers of mental health and social care pathways, providing high value integrated services to a wide range of individuals.

Stuart Growcott joins Harniss

We are delighted to announce that Stuart Growcott has joined Harniss as Principal Design Engineer. In his new role, Stuart will support the further development of our design consultancy function across both Healthcare and Commercial Sectors. Stuart joins us from Hoare Lea.
