The amount of concrete with this property was extremely low and combined with the amount of ground material extraction the building is predicted to accumulate approximately 4,631 tonnes of material.
The redevelopment of this building with the aesthetically pleasing façade and listed nature posed a big challenge.
With a prestigious address of 1 Harley Street, the internal space is planned to be remodelled from old private medical clinic spaces to fresh high-end look with efficient use of the space. Increased footprint will be gained with opened up basement levels and enclosing the internal courtyard.
This BREEAM refurbishment project required a full waste material appraisal to ascertain good site waste management, landfill avoidance and consideration of the circular economy.
The overall audit identified all the possible material for re-use, repurpose and recycling. A 98% avoidance of Landfill through organised waste stream management.
This Pre-demo audit set the targets for the Main Contractor and also ensures achieving the maximum credits under BREEAM Refurbishment Fit-out 2014 Waste 01-02.
